Individual Counselling

One to one counselling provides you, the client, the safety, security and confidentiality to express and explore your feelings, thoughts, problems, concerns, fears and options in a safe space.

It allows me, the counsellor, to work closely with and to focus only on you.

The Types of issues that are addressed in Individual counselling include:

Identifying feelings and beliefs which support or undermine you.

Dealing with anxiety, stress, feelings of overwhelm and sadness.

Working though past or recent traumatic experiences.

Working through relationship challenges or navigating post relationship challenges.

Improving self-esteem and enabling self-forgiveness.

Identifying and establishing supportive skills and habits to achieve goals and/or change important aspects of your life.

Developing stress management and coping skills.

Couples, Relationship & Family Counselling

With couples and family counselling, I work with two or more people who are in a relationship with one another: a married couple, a couple who are in a long-term relationship or family members such a parent and teenager, or multiple members of a family.

This multi-person approach allows us to work with the beliefs, expectations, communication styles, behaviourial and interpersonal dynamics that impact the relationship. The counselling space becomes a safe place in which to explore these facets, give each person a voice and co-create relationship patterns that are more beneficial to each individual and the couple and/or family unit.

The Types of issues that are addressed in Couples, Relationship and Family Counselling include:

Unrealistic expectations of one another.

Destructive conflict patterns/ poor conflict resolution.

Destructive or ineffective communication patterns.

Problematic relationship dynamics.

Diversity in goals, parenting styles, spending habits etc that cause disruption in the relationship.

Recovery from infidelity.

Couples can be married, unmarried, heterosexual or LGBTQ+.

Trauma Counselling

Trauma counselling helps people process and heal from the lasting emotional and psychological effects of traumatic events.

I provide a safe and supportive environment to enable my clients to explore their experiences, understand their reactions, and develop healthy coping strategies. The goal is to help you regain a sense of control, reduce distress, and improve your overall well-being.

Trauma can result from ‘big’ events such as being the victim of a violent or distressing crime, experiencing a car accident or witnessing such an event. It can also result from ongoing abusive relationships, domestic violence or any event or chronic pattern that creates a lack of sense of safety and a fear of harm to yourself or someone else, especially a loved one.

Workplace Counselling

The average person spends a third of their life at work. Stressors such as excessive workloads, long working hours, poor management styles and a toxic workplace culture can exacerbate existing mental health issues or even create mental health problems.

Furthermore, people who are struggling with problems such as substance abuse, domestic violence or trauma may experience difficulties in carrying out their work responsibilities as effectively as required. They may face disciplinary actions because of absenteeism or poor work performance.

I provide confidential, 3rd party counselling services to businesses to help them help their employees. This can enhance their EAP (employee assistance programmes) and health and safety programmes for staff.

Types of Issues addressed in Workplace Counselling:

Stress Management Techniques.

Recovery from Burnout.

Communication Skills and Conflict Resolution.

Substance abuse, domestic violence and other issues that impact an individual’s performance and engagement in the workplace.
